TAID made its new corporate launch while announcing its goals
The Heavy Commercial Vehicles Association (TAID) made its new corporate launch while announcing its 2024 goals. While the first quarter of the year met expectations in the heavy commercial vehicles sector, activity is expected in the coming periods of 2024.

TAID, which brings the heavy commercial vehicle sector under the same roof, evaluated the first quarter of 2024 at the meeting held with the participation of Chairman of the Board Burak Hoşgören, the board of directors and members. Expectations from 2024 were discussed and TAID’s new logo was also introduced.

The heavy commercial vehicles market in Turkey continues its steady growth momentum. Growth is expected to continue in the coming years. On the other hand, the heavy commercial vehicles sector has been going through a significant change in recent years. New technologies such as electrification, autonomous driving and connected vehicles are also creating dynamism in the sector.

According to TAID reports, the heavy commercial vehicle market decreased by 3% in the January-March period of 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year. The total number of vehicles sold during this period was 10,121, while an acceleration is expected in the other quarters of the year.

Burak Hoşgören, in his statement regarding the new corporate identity; “Yes, the logo of TAİD Association has changed. TAİD’s new logo represents power and authority, while underlining the association’s modern and innovative vision that keeps up with the changes in the sector. The new logo represents not only a visual change, but also a new perspective on the sector.

This perspective is based on unity and solidarity, uninterrupted development and innovation. With its new logo, TAİD will continue to play an even stronger role in the sector and contribute to the development of the Turkish economy and the heavy commercial vehicles sector.”

The activities of the members within the TAİD Association serve as a strong leverage for the Turkish economy in many areas, from long-distance transportation to domestic logistics, distribution, construction, mining and waste management. Referring to this issue, Burak Hoşgören said; “The sector’s export volume for 2023 was around 30 billion dollars. As the Heavy Commercial Vehicles Association, we bring together many commercial vehicle manufacturers that are imported and manufactured in Turkey under the same roof. All of these brands carry the burden of many different sectors in Turkey and support local production and employment. On the other hand, since our vehicle users contribute to the country’s production and exports, our sector has strategic importance.” he explained.

Our sector determines its strategy on complying with international standards and adopting sustainability principles

Burak Hoşgören; “Sustainability is a must for our sector in every respect. We have to implement sustainable policies in the European Union and all over the world. The world is moving resolutely towards the goal of becoming carbon neutral in order to address the challenges created by the climate crisis. In parallel with this, technological developments are also radically transforming mobility. This offers us unique opportunities in terms of innovation, efficiency and safety. TAID includes heavy commercial vehicle manufacturers Ford-Otosan, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Otokar, Renault Trucks, Scania, Volvo Trucks, Anadolu Isuzu, as well as trailer, superstructure and sub-industry brands Koluman, Krone, Schmitz and Tırsan.
