ZF\u2019s ability to deliver technological advances across a range of mobility applications has enabled the CVS division to develop and produce core technologies for the commercial vehicle industry.<br \/>\u201cThe synergy created by our different divisions in the development of the TraXon 2 Hybrid allows us to quickly and flexibly meet customer needs and create applicable technologies to effectively reduce carbon emissions from commercial vehicles,\u201d said Dr. Peter Laier, Member of the ZF Board of Management and Responsible for the Commercial Vehicle Solutions Division. \u201cIn doing so, we not only meet the changing needs of the sector, but also position ZF as a strong and reliable partner that sets the pace for transformation with a very flexible portfolio and very flexible production,\u201d he said.<\/p><p>One of ZF\u2019s key advantages is its broad product portfolio that meets the comprehensive needs and applications of commercial vehicle manufacturers and fleet operators. From the innovative vehicle motion control system cubiX to the launch of a full range of next-generation electric drives, ZF has the ability to develop and industrialize innovation in its Commercial Vehicles division for a variety of mobility applications. This enables ZF to offer manufacturers attractive solutions to develop smarter, safer and more sustainable vehicles.<\/p><p>This strength, combined with its broad product portfolio, is what will enable the CVS division to achieve strong results in 2023, achieving 20% \u200b\u200borganic growth and significantly outperforming the market, which grew by 15%.<\/p><p>Towards Zero Emissions<br \/>ZF is electrifying a wide range of commercial vehicle applications with its new generation electric powertrains, offering different and technologically advanced solutions for electric battery or fuel cell vehicles. The E-Mobility Kit, which includes the central drives CeTrax 2 and CeTrax 2 dual, as well as the electric axles AxTrax 2, AxTrax 2 dual and AxTrax 2 LF, provides the solution manufacturers need to produce zero-emission electric vehicles.<br \/>ZF\u2019s latest concept, the AxTrax 2, effectively converts an internal combustion engine (ICE)-powered truck-trailer combination into a hybrid, and can even be integrated into a trailer. This means that the range of a trailer electric vehicle equipped with AxTrax 2 can also be extended. The concept, which is awaiting regulatory approval, can reduce fuel emissions by up to 16%, while this figure can be reached by up to 40% in the plug-in version.<br \/>The company also presented its innovative Braking and e-Drive Synergy Program at the ZF Global Technology Day. The system optimizes the connection between the electric drive and the EBS brake control. The additional braking energy is used for recuperation, increasing the vehicle\u2019s range and also providing smoother starting capabilities.<\/p><p>ZF Digital Solutions<br \/>ZF\u2019s digital fleet management platform, SCALAR, enables fleet managers to manage their operations with real-time, AI-based automated decision-making and efficiency improvement tools. OEMs can also use data and insights from SCALAR to measure the performance of their vehicles in real-world environments. The platform can work with human-controlled and autonomous vehicles.<br \/>ZF\u2019s cubiX vehicle motion control system for commercial vehicle applications converts driving instructions from virtual driver systems into real vehicle motion commands by vehicle actuators. This ensures vehicle stability, safety, precision and performance, including for conventional and electric vehicles. The system was recently successfully tested in the field with customers and partners under real-life conditions, for example with SAFE20, a project for automated cargo area operations.<\/p><p>With its deep understanding and expertise in integration and systems engineering, ZF is therefore simplifying in-vehicle implementation for customers, enabling ready-made automated vehicle motion control and paving the way for software-enabled vehicles.<\/p><p>Towards Zero Accidents<br \/>ZF continues to excel in advanced safety systems. Offering the broadest product portfolio in the commercial vehicle sector, ZF is uniquely positioned to supply these technologies, from individual components to full-system solutions. Leveraging its safety platforms, ZF can supply the solutions customers need to meet regional safety regulations.
